Focused on Learning!

I was born and raised in the foothills of Colorado but have lived in Meadow Vista for the past five years.  Community service has been a large part of my life ever since childhood.  I am an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and have always made my community a priority.  

I have three children growing up here in Meadow Vista and attending or will attend Placer Hills schools.  As a parent, I see the unique challenges our schools face.  Our children's education and needs are my focus and I will never stop working for them.  We live in a diverse community with broad political and economic differences but we unite with our shared goal of our children's achievement.

I believe in open honest collaboration between the community and the schools to achieve what is best for our children.  

• I want to focus on communication between the community the board, and staff.  
• Work to establish new board goals in alignment with community priorities with the students as a priority.  
• Work with the board to find creative ways to retain and hire new high caliber staff.  Reduce vacancies and turnover.  
• I want to work on improving the programs and offerings our schools provide to attract staff and students alike. Our district loses out in funding for every student that leaves the district directly impacting our ability to hire and retain staff. 
• Keep the focus on the students and their needs leaving politics at the door.
• I support age appropriate curriculum that is based on current best practices and teaching techniques in accordance with state standards.
• I strongly condemn the banning of books.  

COVID has caused many issues throughout our schools and community and we need to focus on supporting all families with helping fill in achievement gaps.

I need your help! I need your support, your word-of-mouth campaigning and effort to put the focus back on our children.
